Tuesday, April 13th

World Music Night sponsored by KUT 90.5fm/kut.org. and Bemba Entertainment

The Tuesday night World Music Night series at Momo’s continues with Vanessa Lively, Naga Valli, and Frederico7.  Cost is $5, $3 for students and the doors open at 7:30 pm.

101X Presents The Temper Trap w/ Kissaway Trail

Check out these two buzz bands, including the funky Temper Trap at Emo’s, doors at 9 pm.  Tickets are sold out, so if you’re interested, check out Craigslist.

Wednesday, April 14th

Hill Country Conservancy feat. Old 97s w/ Ben Kweller

In honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, Hill Country Conservancy, The Sierra Club, and other various local environmental groups are teaming up for a week long tribute to our greatest natural resource – The planet! This week long celebration begins on Wednesday, April 14th with a concert featuring The Old 97’s with special guest Ben Kweller.

A concert for a worthy cause taking place at Stubb’s, doors at 6:30 pm.  Tickets are $18 and you can buy them here.

101x Presents Julian Casablancas w/ Funeral Party

The former Strokes frontman plays in support of his first solo album Phrazes For The Young at La Zona Rosa, doors at 8 pm.  Tickets are $20 and you can buy them here.

The Onion Presents White Rabbits and Here We Go Magic

Check out two high-quality indie bands at The Independent, doors at 9 pm.  Tickets are $13 and you can buy them here.

Mind of Adi Showcase w/ English Teeth, The Georgian Company, Followed by Static

This fun early evening show is going to be at Mohawk from 6 to 10 pm.  Price at the door is $5.

Old Settlers Music Festival 2010

The 4-day-long fest in Driftwood, Texas begins on Thursday and goes on until Sunday.  Tickets start as low as $25 and go up to $450.  Check out all the options here.

Thursday, April 15th

Beautiful Riff Raff: A Benefit Concert for Austin Bat Cave

From the promoter:

For the past few months, Austin Bat Cave, a local non-profit writing center, has brought local musicians to classrooms across Austin, where they perform for the students, teach them about songwriting, and help them write their own lyrics. These efforts are culminating in a benefit concert featuring music by Sunset, The Eastern Sea, Built By Snow, and Neiliyo and – most importantly – the students that inspired them.

Check it out at Club de Ville, doors at 8pm, entry fee $8, and all proceeds benefit ABC programs.

New Roman Times, Western Ghost House, and A Faulty Chromosome

This will be at Lambert’s, doors at 10:30 pm.  Entry is only $3.

Friday, April 16th

101X Homegrown live present Frontier Brothers EP release w/ Lemurs, Bright Light Social Hour, Living Bluntly DJs

This promises to be a great local show with FREE pizza from Mr. Gatti’s at 9 pm and a photo booth.  Doors are at 9 pm and the cover is $8 at the door.

Brownout w/ Pong

Check out the Latin funk band at Antone’s, doors at 9 pm.  General admission tickets are $10 and VIP are $30.  You can buy them here.

Austin Reggae Festival

The annual reggae festival gets bigger and better each year.  It starts on Friday and goes through Sunday, with Sunday being the day with the heavy line-up.  Tickets are $12.50 in advance from Planet K outlets.  Check out more ticket info and entry times here.

Saturday, April 17th

Knuckle Rumbler presents: Jigga Stardust: David Bowie vs Jay Z with Prince Klassen and DJ Orion

This party at the The Scoot Inn will throw the hits of David Bowie and Jay-Z head-to-head…dressing up encouraged!  Free entry with “visible leotard,” $3 entry with a NY Yankee ball cap or if you RSVP on Do512.com.  There will be a photo booth.

Heartless Bastards w/ Leatherbag, Hacienda

A great show at Antone’s, doors at 8 pm.  Tickets are $15 and you can buy them here.

The Derailers

Popular honky-tonk band The Derailers will play at the Broken Spoke on Saturday, starting at 9:30 pm.

Sunday, April 18th

Hip Hop from My Ball Sack
