Good afternoon!  Happy MLK Day and happy Monday.  Don’t be jealous of my awesome graphics.

Monday, January 18th

Hope for Haiti: A Benefit Concert with Aaron Ivey, Matt McCloskey, Miranda Dodson, Kevin McKinney, Courrier – Benefitting Real Hope for Haiti

This is a good show for a good cause.  It’s taking place at The Parish, doors at 6 pm.  Cost is $10.

George Stathakes, Jeff Plankenhorn, Bob Schneider’s Lonelyland

Check out this folk rock show at The Saxon Pub.  Doors are at 8:30 pm and cost is $10.

Tuesday, January 19th

“Backstage Pass to the World” w/ The Black And White Years, Stanley Samuelsen (Faroe Islands), plus a VIP Reception Special Guest

This event is a fundraiser presented by Dart Music International, an Austin-based nonprofit organization that promotes cultural advancement for young people throughout our region through music and will take place at The Parish.  Tickets are $15; VIP available.  10% of the silent auction funds will be donated to Haiti relief.

Nic Armstrong

Nic makes another appearance at the Ghost Room, doors at 8 pm.  Contact Ghost Room for details.

Jemina Pearl

Snotty teen pop-punk makes it to Emo’s on Tuesday.  Doors are at 9 pm, cost is $10.

Bloody Knives, Clank, Late Joys, Angelique Raley

Local psychedelic band Bloody Knives plays at Carousel Lounge.  Doors at 8:30 pm.  Contact the Lounge for cost details.

Wednesday, January 20th

James Moran

The New Orleans singer-songwriter is playing a FREE show at La Zona Rosa.  Doors are at 9 pm.

Cienfuegos Latin Orchestra

A dance event at Ruta Maya takes place on Wednesday from 9 pm to midnight.  Cost is $7.

Thursday, January 21st

Great Unwashed Luminaries, Vast Massive Satellite, Steve Pack

Prog rock experiment Great Unwashed Luminaries comes to Carousel Lounge, doors at 7 pm.  Contact the Lounge for cost.

Patty Griffin & Jack Ingram

Austin folk fav Patty Griffin comes to the Paramount Theatre on Thursday.  Tickets are sold out; check Craigslist for deals!


The local alternative/experimental band plays at Stubb’s, doors are at 9 pm.  Tickets are $8 and you can buy them here.
