Song of the Day: Shout Out Louds

December 14, 2009

The Shout Out Louds are back at it with their new single, “Walls”, from upcoming album Work to be released in February of next year.  The song is a major depature from the tracks on their prior album, Our Ill Wills (check out my review of Our Ill Wills here!).  Blending ’90s era R.E.M. alt rock vibes with their signature pop, singer Adam Olenius tones down the Robert Smith/Cure comparisons and channels some grit into the drum and guitar driven instrumentation.  “Walls” maintains that enviable upbeat-yet-bittersweet vibe of the band’s prior work, but makes headway into new sounds and shows growth.  I can’t wait for the album!

You can download your very own copy of “Walls” by visiting the band’s website.  Have a listen and let me know what you think of it!
