Austin Events: November 9 – 12

November 9, 2009

Happy Monday all!  The first half of this week holds an interesting mix of artists, bands, and musicians for our entertainment purposes.  If you’re not all Fun Fun Fun Fest-ed out, then you might consider heading down to see some of these rarely-in-Austin type of acts.

Also, stay tuned this week because AGMG is going to be conducting its first ticket giveaway!  I have two guestlist spots to give out for Brooklyn’s Bamboo Shoots with local bands The Soldier Thread and Frantic Clam next Wednesday, 11/18 at Mixx.  If you’re interested or know anyone who might be, make sure you check back or follow me on Twitter because both sets of spots will be up for grabs by Friday of this week.

And finally, my Austin music picks for the front half of the week!

Monday, November 9th

The Lovemakers, The Personal Victories of George Quartz, DJ Sober

Catchy dance-pop beats at Stubb’s tonight at 10 pm.  Tickets are the low, low price of $8 or $10 and you can pick them up here.

Click the jump to see rap and metal collide, plus some famous singer-songwriter ladies to start out the weekend!

Tuesday, November 10th

Jay-Z, N.E.R.D., J. Cole

H.O.V.A. makes an Austin appearance with N.E.R.D.  Awesome.  Check it out tomorrow at the Frank Erwin Center.  Tickets are $25 – $75 and you can buy them here.

Rob Zombie

If you’re a rap fan AND a monster-rock fan, tomorrow’s your night!  Rob Zombie’s playing the hardcore Austin Music Hall at 7:30 pm.  Tickets are $35 and you can pick them up here.

Wednesday, November 11th

Regina Spektor, Jupiter One

On the significantly more mellow end of things, Regina Spektor plays Stubb’s Wednesday at 8 pm.  Tickets are $25 – $28 and you can buy them here.

Thursday, November 12th

Jewel’s playing One World Theatre on Thursday.  Tickets are all sold out, but word has it that they were running $130 and up.  Wow!  I guess if you’re getting a poet/pop, country, folk songstress/actress/artist/Alaskan, maybe it’s worth it then?  Anyway, if you’re interested in going, I recommend checking out Craigslist.
