Austin Events: July 27 – July 30

July 27, 2009

Wow!  Last week was utter madness.  But it was tons of fun and completely worth every stressful moment, including driving 800 miles in three days and waiting five hours for You Tube to upload only to have it fail for an unknown reason.  That only happened like, six or seven times!  Anyway, now that all of the pictures and some of the videos have been posted (check back early next week for our edited highlight reel of our Dallas/Houston experience!), it’s back to your regularly scheduled blogging.  Check out what events are happening in Austin today through Thursday after the jump.

Monday, July 27th

Iron and Wine, Glen Hansard

Did you buy those tickets like I told you to?  The show is tonight at the Paramount at 8 pm and it’s sold out, save for obstructed seats if you’re desperate to get in.  Find out more here.

Tuesday, July 28th

Snoop Dogg, Stephen Marley

Seeing Stephen Marley at Antone’s with K’Naan as the opener and brother Damian joining him on stage still ranks as one of the best shows I’ve ever been to.  Check him out with rap icon Snoop at Stubb’s tomorrow night at 8 pm.  Tickets are $38 – $40 and you can buy them here.  Read my review of Stephen’s excellent album, Mind Control, here!

Wednesday, July 29th

Del Castillo, Ritmo 3

Austin Latin rock band Del Castillo plays Antone’s at 8 pm.  Contact Antone’s for more info.

Thursday, July 30th

Asher Roth with Kid Cudi, Pac Div, B.o.B.

The nerdy rapper with substance and style enough to impress Jay-Z makes an appearance at Stubb’s on Thursday at 8 pm.  Tickets $24 – $26 and get them here.
