Today’s Musing: Craig Ferguson’s Puppets

June 12, 2009

Craig Ferguson is another of my favorite people.  If you’re not watching him host the Late Late Show, you are missing out.  He’s crazy, witty, intelligent, frequently brilliant, and always hilarious.  Lately, he’s taken a real shining to puppets…yes, those kind of puppets.  Since he’s forced to break up his unprecedentedly long monologues with a 2 minute monologue at the top of the show, he’s started to fill the time by performing elaborate, lip-syncing musical numbers with the assistance of two interns, one of which is always dressed in leather S&M gear, and a gaggle of adorable puppets.  The one above, Fatboy Slim’s “Wonderful Life” was the first one I caught, and I couldn’t stop cracking up (especially when the leather-clad intern busts out a giant clock).  Check out another great one below, when Craig and co take on the They Might Be Giants cover of “Istanbul (Not Constantinople)”.
